Post by: HB on February 23, 2025, 11:08:35 AM
Here is the process to request your personal Avatar on WebChat, please follow the requirements step by step.

Requirement
1- you must be a registered user at ICQ-Chat Chat server, if you need help with that join #Help (https://icq-chat.com/chatroom-help.html) room
2- You must supply your Account nick . this may not be the nick you usually use - check by typing /NickServ info yournick
Example: -NickServ- Information on UserChat (account Alice), in this case the account name is Alice
3- you must register at ICQ-Chat Gallery: Here (https://icq-chat.com/gallery/register.php)
4- your avatar must be not having any watermark nor any copyright picture otherwise will be deleted.
5- make sure your Avatar format is .JPG, you MUST name it as your account-name in lower-cases before starting upload.
6- upload your Avatar: Here (https://icq-chat.com/gallery/index.php?/add_photos) and Select the album (Avatar).  After upload, copy your Avatar page link (the URL address).
7- Go to HelpDesk: Here (https://icq-chat.com/help) and submit your Avatar request including your (1)(account-name) and your (2)(Avatar page link)

If you give the wrong account name or picture format, there may be a delay in processing your request.

Avatars only work on your account name so once you are told that the Avatar has been added, change nicks to your account name/nick if you are not already using it.

How To See Your Avatar:
leave the room and rejoin #chat.  Your avatar should then work for you.
If you still do not see it, you need to clear cache or hard refresh your browser page:
(Ctrl + Shift + R for windows / Cmd + Shift + R for Mac)
then reconnect and it should be work.

Unregistered users and (registered users who do not request an avatar), automatically will have a default avatar no matter what nick they use.

Things you need to be aware of
1- you can ask to change your avatar no more than once every 2 months.
2- IF you ask to remove your avatar, you may not request another one for 2 months from removal.

Custom Avatars are not an automatic feature, and Admins deal with these requests asap.

Bear with us while this new feature is developed and we iron out the wrinkles
